The Level 3 Diploma in the Creative Music Industry is the most comprehensive programme within the Creative Music Industry pathway, designed for learners who want to develop advanced skills in music production, studio recording and the wider music business.

Awarded by RSL Awards, this qualification combines practical studio training with industry knowledge, helping learners build both technical ability and a strong understanding of how the modern music industry operates.

Through a combination of tutor-led studio sessions and independent project work, learners will develop the skills required to produce, record and release music while gaining experience working collaboratively on creative projects.

The qualification carries UCAS points, supporting progression into higher education, apprenticeships or employment within the music and creative industries.

QUALIFICATION & PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will achieve the Level 3 Diploma in the Creative Music Industry, awarded by RSL Awards.

This nationally recognised qualification carries UCAS points, providing learners with a strong pathway into higher education, apprenticeships or employment within the music and creative industries.

Learners may progress to:

  • University degrees in Music Production, Audio Engineering, Music Technology or Music Business
  • Apprenticeships within the music, media and creative sectors, such as Assistant Recording Technician or Audiovisual Technician roles
  • Employment opportunities within recording studios, live sound, broadcasting, events and media production
  • Independent careers as music producers, DJs, artists or content creators

The diploma provides the highest level of study within the Creative Music Industry pathway, giving learners the skills, knowledge and experience needed to progress confidently into further education or the professional music industry.

Once enrolled Learners will receive their timetable and an overview of what the next 48 weeks look like 30 hours per week typically split with 15 hours on site (2 ½ days) and 15 hours of self-study / revision This structure allows learners to combine guided studio learning with independent creative development, helping them build a strong portfolio of production work.
